Every year, students from Hamtramck High School gather in our mentor's room, and start planning for a new game. Robotics is an extracurricular program at our school, in which our team members design and build a robot from the ground up to perform a specific task. This task is part of the game, which is distributed every year by FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). This game is played by hundreds of robotics teams from around the world, and is the foundation for the engineers of the future.

FIRST is an  international organization that was founded by Dean Kamen in hopes that it would inspire students to pursue a field in engineering. The ultimate goal is “to transform culture, making science, math, engineering, and technology as cool for kids as sports are today.”

Since our formation in the 1997 season, we have won many awards including the GM industrial design award. Of course, none of this could be possible without our generous sponsors, our dedicated mentors, and our inspiring teachers at Hamtramck High School. Thanks to everyone who has dedicated their time to prepare us for the future!
